Job summary

Eversource is seeking a seasoned Distribution Planning professional to lead long-range planning for reliable electric service in MA/CT/NH. You will analyze distribution networks, evaluate alternatives, and communicate findings to management and regulators.

The role requires extensive experience in planning and design of distribution lines and substations, with strong collaboration across departments. Travel between MA/CT/NH is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years minimum in planning, design, and operations related to distribution line and distribution substation facilities.
• Knowledge of National, State and other planning standards.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including formal presentation.
• Registered Professional Engineer in Connecticut, Massachusetts or New Hampshire is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Identify distribution system problems, lead scenario-based planning studies, evaluate alternatives and recommend solutions for reliable distribution.
• Develop 2–5 year and 5+ year distribution plans addressing load relief, capacity, and DER integration.
• Collaborate with cross-functional groups to create long-range planning criteria for two-way communication of new technologies (PV, EV, battery storage).
• Prepare contingency studies for distribution networks (N-1, N-2) and contribute to regulatory filings.
