Job summary

Nexus Engineering Group, an employee-owned EPCm firm, seeks a Senior Power System Studies Engineer to own power system studies for industrial clients. You will build and validate models in ETAP and related tools, perform load flow, short-circuit, arc-flash, and relay coordination, and deliver client-ready reports.

As a senior team member, you will mentor junior engineers, help shape Nexus's study methodology, and interact with clients as a technical lead.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience performing power system studies for industrial clients.
  • Proficient in ETAP, EasyPower or SKM and related modeling techniques.
  • Strong understanding of load flow, short-circuit, arc-flash, protection, and relay coordination.
  • Ability to own studies independently from scoping to client-ready deliverables.
  • Knowledge of IEEE 1584, IEEE 3000 Series, NFPA 70/70E is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and own power system studies end-to-end, including scoping, modeling, analysis, QC, and final reports.
  • Build and validate models in ETAP, EasyPower, or SKM as required.
  • Perform load flow, short-circuit, arc-flash, protective device coordination, and motor-starting studies.
  • Coordinate protection schemes and develop study templates and standards.
  • Mentor junior engineers and interact with clients as a technical point of contact.
  • Travel 2–3 times per year to client facilities.
