Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated Ph.D. graduate (recent or experienced) to join our R&D organization and help define the future of resilient, intelligent, and sustainable new electrical distribution systems. This role sits at the intersection of power electronics, energy infrastructure modernization, AI-enabled energy management, coordination & protection, grid interactions and resilience. The successful candidate will conduct advanced research, develop intellectual property, collaborate with university research institutes and industry partners, and translate breakthrough concepts into technologies that can be deployed in critical infrastructure, data centers, microgrids, industrial facilities, and new electrical distribution systems.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct original research and develop technology roadmaps for future energy systems.

Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Electrical, Mechanical, Materials, Systems and Controls Engineering or a related technical field. Candidates with less educational qualifications could be considered based on their level of proven expertise in the industry.
  • Strong research record s demonstrated through publications, patents, or dissertation work.
  • Knowledge in one or more of the following:
    • Power electronics
    • Power systems
    • Microgrids
    • Power conversion
    • Power protection
    • System & controls
    • Grid integration
    • Energy management systems
  • Experience using various simulation tools (e.g. Matlab/Simulink, PSCAD) for power electronics circuit design and power system analysis.
  • Familiarity with relevant IEEE, IEC, UL, NEMA, and NFPA standards is a plus.

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 117,600 - USD 176,400 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
