Job summary

Entergy seeks a Senior Technical Support Specialist to develop, implement and manage improvement projects and provide diagnostic expertise to enhance reliability, efficiency and safety across plant, plant support, or fleet maintenance environments. This onsite role supports DCS/Mark VI and Allen Bradley control systems.

You will conduct root cause analysis, lead complex projects, train production technicians, and collaborate with IT.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Preferred: Associate degree in Engineering Technology or bachelor’s degree in Science in a technical field.
• At least 6–8 years of power plant or relevant technical experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in all applications of the Microsoft Toolkit.

Responsibilities

• Conduct root cause analysis and prepare reports for management use.
• Provide primary or backup technical support for various plant system and processes.
• Utilize online monitoring systems and tools to analyze, trend, and monitor plant performance data in an effort to improve plant operation.
• Provide technical support to maintenance, outage, and smaller capital projects.
• Technical Lead on specific / complex projects.
• Support problem solving, equipment condition assessments and represent Entergy during shop repairs.
• Plant Support assignments may engage in diagnostic services (e.g., vibration analysis, infrared, etc.).
• Maintain and monitor DCS, Mark VI, and Allen Bradley Control systems; make approved logic changes in DCS.
• Oversee Alarm Management System; work with IT on plant computer system problems.
• Train upcoming Production Techs in the DCS, Mark VI, and Allen Bradley Control Systems.
• Project management.
• Maintain the plant Relays.
