Job summary

Brunel is seeking an experienced Commissioning Operations Supervisor II to support startup and commissioning of a major industrial power generation project. You will lead unit operations during startup, supervise client operators, mentor staff, and coordinate with stakeholders to meet commissioning milestones.

The role requires a strong background in power plant operations, startup/commissioning experience, and proven leadership in fast-paced environments with a commitment to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience operating similar generating units or power plant facilities.
• Minimum of 5 years of startup and commissioning experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of power plant or industrial facility operations.
• Experience leading operators and coordinating startup activities in a commissioning environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction and supervision of unit operations during startup and commissioning activities.
• Support and lead on-the-job training programs for client operations personnel.
• Develop, implement, and maintain operating procedures, routines, and operational controls.
• Establish and manage operations planning, communication, and control processes to support startup execution.
• Supervise and coordinate operational activities performed by client operators and operations teams.
• Monitor and control operational shifts and crews to maximize effectiveness and efficiency.
• Maintain detailed operations logs and ensure instructions and activities are accurately documented and communicated.
• Assist with startup planning activities related to plant operations and system readiness.
• Provide functional leadership and guidance to Operations Supervisors assigned to the project.
• Support workforce development through coaching, training, and performance feedback.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support implementation of operational enhancements.
• Serve as a lead operational resource during commissioning and startup activities.
