Job summary

Amazon Web Services seeks an experienced Power Generation Engineer to lead design and evaluation of primary, temporary, and backup power for data centers. You will own cross-team technical decisions, developing configurations across diesel, gas turbines, energy storage, microgrids, and renewables to meet uptime and cost targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years leading power infrastructure designs in complex mission-critical facilities.
• Experience with uninterruptible power sources, switchgear, and data center power distribution.
• Knowledge of power generation equipment and energy storage systems.
• Experience with medium/high-voltage equipment and substation configurations.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and equipment specs.

Responsibilities

• Developing designs and analysis of power generation sources for data center loads.
• Support development of power generation configurations for primary, temporary, or backup power.
• Understand global data center fleet and site designs.
• Interpret and develop Single Line Drawings, submittals, and performance data.
• Provide feedback to Design Engineering and Field Engineering for upgrades.
• Understand grid interconnection standards and microgrid controls.
• Work on concurrent projects across regions.
• Lead within the group and collaborate with teams.
• Offer creative, out-of-the-box solutions.
