Job summary

Amazon AWS is seeking an experienced Senior Product Engineer, Power Generation, to lead design, development and deployment of power generation solutions for data centers. You will own complex, multi-team challenges spanning synchronous and inverter-based technologies and help optimize reliability, cost, and scalability for AWS infrastructure.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
Experience in industrial or commercial engineering for mission critical facilities (data centers, power generation, oil and gas).
Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities.
Experience with power generation equipment, systems, controls (diesel generators, DER, gas turbines, battery energy storage).
Experience with process safety, natural gas piping and infrastructure, and establishing requirements, reference designs, and technical direction.
Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, single and three-line diagrams, P&ID drawings, submittals, sequences of operations, and electrical drawings packages.

Responsibilities

Develop designs and analysis of power generation sources to serve data center loads in grid connected or independent configurations.
Lead the technical development of generation and energy products for different applications (primary, temporary, or backup).
Define infrastructure, deployment, and operations requirements for owned power products.
Understand the global data center fleet and site designs (existing and upcoming).
Interpret and develop single line drawings, process flow diagrams, and performance data to advance concepts.
Provide feedback to Design Engineering and Field Engineering for design revisions and upgrades.
Provide SME support to peers, management and partner teams.
Manage concurrent projects across multiple regions.
Lead within the group and other teams with positive, creative solutions.
Maintain enthusiasm and strong work ethic.
