Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in the United States (TX) seeks an experienced Senior Power Generation Availability Engineer to lead availability modeling for data center power systems.

You will influence cross-functional teams, design and evaluate power generation configurations, and ensure safety, reliability, and sustainability targets are met across multiple sites. You'll own complex problems, develop single-line diagrams, and work with utilities, vendors, and contractors while traveling as

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years in industrial/commercial engineering for mission critical facilities.
• Knowledge of electrical systems in critical data center ops.
• Experience with large scale power distribution/generation gear and cooling systems.
• Experience with availability modeling software (ReliaSoft) and FMEA.
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and P&ID drawings.
• Ability to analyze data for outage metrics (MTBF/MTTR).

Responsibilities

• Develop availability models for various power generation sources to support data center loads.
• Support design of power generation configurations (primary/backup).
• Understand global data center fleet designs and site variations.
• Interpret SLDs, drawings, equipment specs and performance data.
• Provide feedback to design and field engineering for upgrades.
• Understand grid interconnection standards and microgrid controls.
• Lead cross-regional projects and collaborate with internal/external partners.
• Propose creative solutions while maintaining project timelines.
