Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Program Director to lead large-scale Power & Energy programs in the Maine region. The role provides oversight for delivery, budgets, and performance across the EHV Transmission & Distribution sector. Travel to client offices for face-to-face meetings is expected as needed.

You will guide project teams, manage risk and contract obligations, and provide strategic advice to clients while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
• 15+ years of relevant post-education project management experience
• Master’s degree preferred
• PMP or equivalent certification preferred
• Strong analytical and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Lead the most complex and largest scale programs within the Power & Energy portfolio, ensuring budgets, forecasts, margins, KPIs, and risk controls are managed.
• Engage stakeholders at all levels, maintain relationships, and report progress to clients and leadership.
• Participate in contract negotiations, presentations, and client meetings to secure favorable outcomes.
• Ensure profitable delivery and successful completion of all projects within the defined area/portfolio.
• Provide leadership to multi-disciplinary teams and offer strategic advice to clients.
• Develop and maintain governance documentation (RMP, PMP, QP, PSP, communications) per requirements.
• Lead program governance meetings, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.
• Develop project recovery plans and corrective strategies for budget overruns with clients.
• Ensure regular reporting to clients and internal stakeholders, flagging scope, risk, or budget issues.
• Close out projects formally and gather lessons learned for future improvements.
