Job summary

Applied Digital is seeking a Power and Energy Attorney to support our legal team in power, energy, and infrastructure initiatives. The role focuses on drafting and negotiating PPAs, interconnection and energy procurement agreements, and advising on regulatory matters.

A JD and 4–8 years of relevant experience are required. The successful candidate will collaborate with development, finance, engineering, and executive teams, travel as needed, and help advance our energy projects for data-center

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 4-8 years of legal experience with a focus on utility and power transactions.
• Strong understanding of energy markets, utility regulations, interconnection processes, and power procurement structures.
• Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating PPAs, interconnection agreements, ESAs, and related contracts.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate energy-related agreements including PPAs, interconnection, CIAC, and ESAs.
• Provide legal support for power development, utility infrastructure, energy procurement, and grid connectivity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, finance, engineering, and leadership.
• Advise on federal, state, and local energy regulations and regulatory compliance matters.
• Monitor regulatory changes and provide guidance on business impact.
• Support strategic energy initiatives and negotiations with utilities and providers.
• Assist with dispute resolution, regulatory proceedings, and litigation management.
