Job summary

Applied Digital is seeking a Power and Energy Attorney to support the Legal team on power, energy, and infrastructure initiatives. The role focuses on drafting and negotiating PPAs, interconnection, energy supply agreements, and related contracts.

The ideal candidate has 4–8+ years of energy/infra law experience and will advise on regulatory matters, collaborate with development, finance, and operations, and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school with active U.S. bar membership.
• 4–8+ years of legal experience in energy, utilities, power transactions, or infrastructure law.
• Strong understanding of energy markets, utility regulations, interconnection processes, and power procurement structures.
• Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating PPAs, interconnection agreements, ESAs, and energy supply contracts.
• Experience negotiating energy-related agreements incl. interconnection, feasibility studies, EPC, O&M and related contracts.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate PPAs, interconnection, EPC, and energy supply contracts.
• Provide legal support for power development, utility infrastructure, energy procurement, and grid connectivity.
• Advise internal stakeholders on federal, state, and local energy regulations impacting energy generation and procurement.
• Monitor and analyze changes in energy regulations and provide practical compliance guidance.
• Support strategic energy initiatives, including power procurement and renewable energy projects.
• Assist with dispute resolution, regulatory proceedings, and litigation management as needed.
• Willing and able to travel to various operating locations (e.g., ND, TX).
