Job summary

Vicor Corporation, an American manufacturer of 48V centric DC-DC converters, seeks an experienced power electronics designer to lead product development from concept to production. You will design state‑of‑the‑art DC/DC converters and magnetics, perform circuit and layout work, and generate full documentation while collaborating with internal teams and external customers.

Minimum 5+ years in power electronics with extensive knowledge of high-frequency switching topologies and control

Qualifications

• BSEE, MSEE preferred.
• 5+ years of Power Electronics design experience in AC/DC, DC/DC, VRM, or BUS converters.
• Extensive knowledge of high frequency switching power supply topologies and control architectures.
• Design skills include high frequency magnetics, power conversion circuits, circuit simulation, and layout considerations.
• Strong mathematical and analytical background with ability to model complex electrical problems.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop state of the art DC/DC converter products using proprietary technologies.
• Oversee design elements including magnetics, analog, component selection, simulation/test, PCB layout, and product specs.
• Lead product design and development from conception through manufacturing production.
• Oversee generation of complete documentation for all designed products.
• Interface with internal organizations and external customers.
