Job summary

Vicor, an American manufacturer of high-density 48V DC-DC converters, is seeking a Product Development Engineer - High Performance Computing. The role focuses on creating reference designs, simulation models, test boards, datasheets, and expert tools for VR systems and power delivery networks.

You will design, simulate, prototype, and validate complex power modules, working closely with customers and internal teams to ensure specifications meet requirements and performance targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (MSEE a plus).
• Experience with Blue Chip or Tier 1 VR customers desired.
• 5+ years in Power Electronics Design, Product Development, or Applications Engineering.
• Strong analytical approach and ability to troubleshoot power circuits.

Responsibilities

• Design VR systems independently and with the team.
• Create reference designs and work with customers on design-in and validation.
• Write specifications from customer requirements for product translation.
• Design, simulate, prototype, test, and optimize custom circuitry with advanced products.
• Conduct bench testing of new products at system level.
• Develop reference designs and evaluation PCBs.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts.
• Troubleshoot and optimize customer Vicor systems.
