Johnson Controls in New Freedom, PA, is seeking a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to lead development of advanced control algorithms for embedded processors, MATLAB/Simulink, and VSDs. You will own the lifecycle from concept to prototype and validation.

The role requires 5+ years in power electronics and motor control, a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, and hands-on PCB/FPGA work. Onsite at the Advanced Development Center with relocation support and a competitive salary.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
5+ years of experience in power electronics and variable speed drives; 8+ years if Master's degree.
Strong modeling and simulation, plus controller design using MATLAB/Simulink.
Strong power electronics and motor control knowledge.
Experience with Auto-code generation using MATLAB/Simulink.
Familiarity with Altium for circuit design and layout.

Responsibilities

Conduct system modeling, simulation, and verification using MATLAB/Simulink with Auto-code generation.
Prototype testing on hardware-in-loop systems, variable speed drives, and chillers to verify control performance.
Support field issue troubleshooting and control method improvements.
Maintain electronic circuit designs with embedded processors and FPGA/CPLD.
Perform worst-case circuit analysis and apply reliability principles for operation under specs.
Assist internal customers to develop, test, and support PCBA projects.
