Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Power Electronics team within the R&D - HVAC Engineering department in New Freedom, PA. Commuting distance or relocation is required.

You will lead design, testing, and sustainment of power electronics for the chiller portfolio, shape system architecture, and collaborate across cross-functional teams to ensure performance, reliability, and manufacturability.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Power Electronics.
At least 5+ years of industry experience in power electronics or electrical engineering.
Experience with three-phase power and circuit design.
Proficiency with power electronics concepts and related design practices.

Responsibilities

Serve as technical authority in the Power Electronics group, guiding design, testing, and sustainment.
Lead selection of engineering techniques to develop robust power electronics solutions.
Establish and maintain compliance frameworks for electrical circuitry.
Translate requirements into designs meeting performance, reliability, and manufacturability targets.
Own engineering documentation for design and lifecycle support.
Drive system-level architecture and evaluate tradeoffs and costs.
Lead feasibility studies and analyses for new applications and modifications.
Collaborate with engineers, designers, and technicians across teams.
Plan, prioritize, and manage work activities with repeatable processes.
Act as escalation point for complex issues and lead root-cause analysis.
