Job summary

Infinite Electronics in Lewisville, TX is seeking a senior electrical engineer to lead the design, development, and qualification of power conversion electronics for Battery Back Up (BBU) and UPS systems. You will own architecture definition, bidirectional DC‑DC converters, BMS hardware, and make build‑versus‑buy decisions.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate with firmware teams, support safety and regulatory qualification, and collaborate with suppliers to deliver reliable energy storage

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in power electronics hardware design.
• Experience with battery backup, UPS, energy storage or DC-DC conversion.
• Design ownership of switch-mode converters from concept to production.
• Experience with Li-ion/LiFePO4/lead-acid charging and discharging.
• Strong protection architecture and fail-safe design.
• Sensing circuits for cell voltage, pack current, and temperature.
• Proficiency with CAN/CAN-FD, I2C, SPI, UART, RS-485, Modbus.
• Schematic capture and PCB layout tools; thermal/EMI considerations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior electrical design authority for power electronics.
• Design bidirectional DC-DC converters and topology selection.
• Develop charging/discharging circuitry for Li-ion/LiFePO4/lead-acid.
• Define protection architecture including over/under voltage and temperature.
• Design and validate BMS hardware with AFE, cell monitoring, isolation.
• Communicate with firmware on control algorithms and telemetry.
• Support safety/regulatory qualification and coordinate with labs.
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews.
