Job summary

GE Vernova's Power Conversion & Storage division seeks a Lead Electrical Engineer in Imperial, PA to own high‑power converter design, analysis, and testing across marine, naval, and energy applications.

You will lead system specifications, power electronics design (SiC/GaN/IGBT), modeling in MATLAB/Simulink, hardware validation, and cross‑functional collaboration with firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams. Doctoral or master's with 6+ years preferred; relocation assistance provided.

Qualifications

• PhD/MA in power electronics with 6+ years of experience.
• Experience with SiC/GaN/IGBT/Thyristor devices in high-density converters.
• 3+ years in electrical power systems with test bench design.

Responsibilities

• Review customer requirements for large power converters and derive system architecture.
• Draft electrical/electronics specifications and lead trade studies for circuit selection and layout.
• Lead development of high‑power converters from concept to validated solution, ensuring SQDC compliance.
• Model power electronics and electrical systems using MATLAB/Simulink/PLECS/PSIM for validation.
• Simulate interaction with grid/microgrid and optimize power quality and EMI/EMC filters.
• Perform hardware validation, testing, debugging, and data collection for prototypes.
• Provide SME leadership in design reviews and cross‑functional collaboration with firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams.
