Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a seasoned Power Electronics Engineer to simulate and design electrical, thermal, and mechanical aspects of converters for industrial applications. You will specify components, collaborate with Design Office and Manufacturing, and lead cross-functional teams to deliver robust, low- and medium-voltage solutions.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field.
  • Six (6) years of experience in power electronics hardware design or controls development.
  • Experience with VFD systems including design, testing, and commissioning.

Responsibilities

  • Simulate and design electrical, thermal, and mechanical aspects of power electronics converters.
  • Specify electrical and mechanical components; collaborate with Design Office and Manufacturing.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to design, develop, and validate low-/medium-voltage power electronics.
  • Design new Voltage Source Inverters (IGBT/SiC) and Thyristor converters; ensure high performance in challenging environments.
  • Develop control algorithms using P80i software platform; run simulations with MATLAB, SIMULINK, PLECS, PSPICE.
