Job summary

GE Vernova's Power Electronics Engineer role leads design tasks for megawatt-scale power converters in Marine/Defense, Energy and Industry. You will specify, model, validate, and support manufacturing and commissioning in a multi-disciplinary team.

Requires a bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or Power Electronics with 5+ years in the field, willingness to travel up to 20%, and US work authorization; security clearance is a plus. Relocation assistance provided.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics or similar from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 5 Years experience in power electronics, power conversion, and/or naval power systems.
  • US Citizenship or ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance; legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Review detailed technical specifications for control of large marine and naval power converters capturing customer requirements.
  • Maintain ownership of engineering artifacts including software specifications, control specs, drawings, and test procedures.
  • Interface with Sourcing, Purchasing, Manufacturing and Test to ensure conformance to specs and fit-for-purpose controls.
  • Create models of power electronic controls for power quality and system stability studies.
  • Support sales by reviewing new requirements and highlighting gaps with current capabilities.
  • Collaborate with GE PC businesses to incorporate technologies for North American customers.
  • Develop real time software and hardware-in-the-loop systems to simulate and test complex requirements.
