Job summary

RTX in El Segundo, CA seeks an experienced Power Electronics Engineer (P3) to lead design and development of power conversion hardware for aerospace and defense programs. You will own circuit-level and subsystem designs, guide PCB layout, run simulations, and mentor junior engineers while delivering high-reliability power solutions.

This role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering, 5+ years in power electronics, and hands-on lab experience with high-voltage systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 5+ years of power electronics design/analysis/test.
• Experience with switched-mode converters, PFC, high-density boards.
• Lab experience with oscilloscopes and high-voltage equipment.
• Master’s degree preferred in EE or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of AC/DC and DC/DC converters and motor drives.
• Perform schematic creation, component selection, and PCB guidance.
• Conduct SPICE/PLECS simulations and worst-case analyses.
• Develop magnetics designs and gate-driver strategies for SiC/GaN devices.
• Ensure EMI/EMC compliance per MIL/DO standards and lead tests.
• Mentor P1–P2 engineers and participate in design reviews.
