Job summary

CesiumAstro, a leader in satellite communications, is seeking a Staff Power Electronics Engineer to drive development across power systems for military and commercial platforms. The role spans architecture definition, circuit design, PCB layout, verification, and production support.

You will lead a small team, mentor engineers, perform SWAP-C trade studies, and work with instruments and simulations to ensure reliability and performance in demanding environments.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 8+ years designing analog and power electronics.
• Experience with high-power, off-line AC-DC and DC-DC converters.
• Knowledge of control loops, stability, and EMC.
• Hands-on testing with scope, spectrum analyzers, and loads.
• Experience with SWAP-C trade studies and power architectures.

Responsibilities

• Lead power electronics architecture definition and trade studies.
• Design and verify DC-DC and AC-DC power converters from 20W to 20kW.
• Develop design verification plans and production test procedures.
• Mentor engineers and lead a small team.
• Board bring-up, LVS, and qualification campaigns.
• Ensure compliance with aerospace/defense standards (FCC, CISPR, UL, NASA, MIL).
