Blue Origin invites a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to lead the Solar Array Regulator design and qualification for the TeraWave Spacecraft Bus. You will own requirements, circuit design, and production release, balancing reliability with cost for thousands of units.

The role emphasizes hands-on hardware development, MIL-STD-1540 compliance, and interface with thermal, structures, and avionics teams to enable flight success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years hands-on electronics hardware development experience.
• Experience with solar array regulation topologies (shunt, S3R, MPPT, PPT) in space.
• High-voltage power electronics design above 50V including bus architecture.
• Experience with MIL-STD-1540, SMC-S-016, ECSS-E-ST-10-03 testing and anomaly resolution.
• Radiation-tolerant or hardened design practices and TID analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead circuit design for the Solar Array Regulator (SAR) and topology selection.
• Characterize solar array performance across illumination/temperature ranges.
• Define thermal dissipation requirements and collaborate with thermal engineers.
• Maintain SAR hardware requirements, ICDs, and design specs with systems engineering.
• Participate in FMEA/FMECA and drive single-point failure elimination.
• Transition ATE from development to production and ensure test coverage.
