Stored Energy Systems (SENS) in Longmont, CO is seeking a highly skilled Power Electronics Engineer IV to design industrial battery chargers, inverters, and related accessories across a wide power range (150W to 100kW). The role spans concept to production, requiring deep expertise in power conversion and embedded control systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with 8+ years of power conversion experience OR a master’s degree with 6+ years of power conversion experience.
• Experience with active front-end designs for single and three-phase AC inputs.
• Familiarity with UL/IEC isolation requirements, EMI/EMC design and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of MOSFETs, SiC, GaN, gate drivers, and protection circuits.
• Proficiency in analog and power circuit simulation tools (e.g. LTspice).
• Strong control theory background: design, modeling, and stability analysis.
• Thermal design/analysis experience and magnetics design knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, simulate, prototype, and validate power conversion systems and topologies.
• Develop and implement both analog and digital control loops.
• Create and maintain technical documentation including schematics and interface documents.
• Conduct design reviews and collaborate across Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality.
• Support product transition to manufacturing with DFM and test readiness.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production and field environments.
• Mentor and support team development to foster continuous improvement.
