Job summary

Apera is seeking a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to own the design of high-performance power electronics for charging and docking infrastructure in a fast-moving autonomous logistics setting.

You will lead electrical design from prototype to production, shape architecture, conduct trade studies, and collaborate with reliability, mechanical, embedded, and systems teams to bring designs to certification and field deployment.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years designing and testing power electronics hardware (AC-DC, DC-DC, battery charging).
• Strong knowledge of power conversion topologies and high-voltage semiconductors (SiC or Si MOSFETs).
• MCU and digital communications design experience (Ethernet, SPI, I2C, UART).
• Proficiency with Altium, SPICE or similar tools.
• Familiarity with UL, IEC and other safety standards.
• Strong lab skills (oscilloscope, power analyzer, LCR meter, spectrum analyzer).

Responsibilities

• Own the electrical design of charging systems for volume production, from requirements and prototype through schematic, layout and validation.
• Shape next-generation product architecture and make key design decisions with a high degree of independence.
• Lead trade studies and drive risk reduction.
• Partner with reliability, mechanical, embedded and systems teams from concept through production, certification and field deployment.
• Troubleshoot field issues and feed learnings into future designs.
• Travel occasionally for supplier visits, deployments and field validation.
