Job summary

Eversource Energy is seeking a Distribution Planning Engineer to lead studies for planning distribution substation facilities, lines, and underground networks. The role requires mastery of power systems planning and collaboration with multiple departments to integrate PV, EV, and storage technologies.

You will develop long-range distribution plans, perform load-flow and scenario analyses, and prepare regulatory filings with clear testimony and documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience with planning distribution substation facilities and networks.
• Experience in regulatory filings before public utility commissions.
• Knowledge of PV/EV/storage technologies and two-way communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead and conduct distribution planning studies and evaluate alternatives.
• Develop 2–5 year and 5+ year distribution plans including DER integration.
• Build and validate distribution models with power system tools.
• Prepare contingency studies and economic analyses for projects.
• Present recommendations to management and regulators.
