Job summary

Root Edge is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to own power distribution from utility service to the critical load for data-center projects. The role involves designing, reviewing, and stamping work, partnering with an engineering team, and building the electrical function as the portfolio grows.

You will lead MV/LV distribution design, run studies, serve as Engineer of Record, and coordinate with utilities.

Qualifications

• Active PE license in electrical engineering (US)
• BSEE with power systems focus is a plus
• 7+ years in MV/LV distribution design, data centers or mission critical facilities
• Familiarity with ETAP/SKM, NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE/ANSI
• Field experience through construction, testing and energization
• Experience leading engineers and building teams

Responsibilities

• Lead MV and LV distribution design for data centers, including transformers, switchgear, switchboards, busway, UPS and generator integration
• Perform load flow, short circuit, arc flash and coordination studies; direct one-line diagrams
• Serve as Engineer of Record and stamp drawings and calculations
• Coordinate with utilities for service requests, interconnection and energization
• Write specs, review bids/submittals and participate in factory testing of long-lead equipment
• Support construction and commissioning on site and sign off test results
• Create design standards and repeatable reference designs; hire the team to deliver them
