root/edge is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to own the MV/LV power distribution design across its data center portfolio. The role involves bringing in-house design from external consultants and setting the technical standard as the company scales.

You will work directly with leadership, procurement, and construction teams to develop standards, coordinate utility interconnection studies, and guide power delivery timelines in a fully remote US environment.

Formación

• Active PE license in any US state.
• Significant experience designing MV/LV power distribution.
• Experience in data centers, mission-critical facilities, or high-reliability environments.
• Working knowledge of NEC, IEEE, NFPA and interconnection requirements.
• Ability to work independently and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsabilidades

• Lead MV/LV power distribution design from utility interconnection through the facility, including switchgear, transformers, UPS, generators, and critical power paths.
• Review and direct work from outside engineering firms, and take over more work in-house over time.
• Develop electrical standards, reference designs, and equipment specifications for multiple sites.
• Support utility coordination, interconnection studies, and power delivery timelines.
• Collaborate with procurement and construction teams on long-lead equipment, constructability, and commissioning.
• Be the technical voice on electrical decisions with executives, developers, and partners.

Senior Electrical Engineer, MV/LV Power Distribution

Data Center Infrastructure | Fully Remote (US) | Direct Hire

The company

Our client is a fast-growing data center and AI infrastructure company. It builds facilities in the 10 to 20 MW range and is scaling quickly. This is the first in-house electrical engineering hire, so you will set the technical standard instead of inheriting one.

The role

You will own the electrical design of medium and low voltage power distribution across the company's data center portfolio. Today that work leans on outside consultants. You will bring it in-house, work directly with leadership, and shape how the company designs, specifies, and builds power systems as it grows. Title is flexible for the right person.

What you'll do

• Lead MV/LV power distribution design from utility interconnection through the facility, including switchgear, transformers, UPS, generators, and critical power paths
• Review and direct work from outside engineering firms, and take over more of it in-house over time
• Develop electrical standards, reference designs, and equipment specifications that repeat across sites
• Support utility coordination, interconnection studies, and power delivery timelines

What we're looking for

• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in any US state
• Significant experience designing MV/LV power distribution, ideally in data centers, mission-critical facilities, or other high-reliability environments
• Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, NFPA) and of utility interconnection requirements
• Comfort working independently and making sound calls without a large team around you
• Clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
