Job summary
Kimley-Horn’s Chicago office is seeking an Electrical Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join the Power Delivery team. This role focuses on design and analysis of electrical systems for renewable generation, energy storage, and utility-scale projects in a collaborative, non-remote environment.
The ideal candidate will develop design documents, ensure compliance with NEC/NESC/IEEE/ANSI standards, and mentor junior staff while traveling as needed to client sites and projects across the
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in an Electrical Engineering role.
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Understanding of NEC, NESC, IEEE and ANSI standards.
- Willingness to travel to support site visits and meetings.
- Ability to work in a team and mentor junior staff.
Responsibilities
- Lead design and analysis of electrical systems for renewable generation and substations.
- Develop design documents, layouts, schematics, and one-line diagrams.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams within Kimley-Horn offices.
- Prepare specifications, construction cost estimates, and proposals.
- Mentor and grow the Power Delivery team.
