BARNARD CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC. is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to drive strategic growth in power delivery projects across North America.

The role is based in Bozeman, MT, with travel to client meetings, conferences, and industry events. You will leverage extensive utilities relationships, guide pursuit strategies with estimating and operations teams, and coordinate prequalification and proposals to win high-voltage projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Marketing, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in business development, project management, operations, estimating, or related roles in the power delivery industry.
• Strong knowledge of transmission line and substation construction and utility market dynamics.
• Established relationships with investor-owned utilities, public utilities, cooperatives, engineering firms, EPC contractors, developers.
• Willingness to travel extensively across North America.
• Experience supporting prequalification and proposal development.
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently across multiple departments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic business development initiatives focused on power delivery opportunities across North America.
• Build, strengthen, and maintain relationships with utility clients, developers, engineering firms, EPC partners, and key industry decision-makers.
• Identify, track, and qualify upcoming transmission line, substation, renewable energy interconnection, and grid modernization projects.
• Monitor market conditions, capital improvement plans, regulatory developments, and industry trends to identify emerging opportunities.
• Collaborate with estimating, operations, and executive leadership teams to develop pursuit strategies for targeted projects.
• Support and coordinate prequalification submissions, proposals, presentations, and interview preparations.
• Represent Barnard at utility conferences, industry association meetings, customer events, and trade shows.
• Maintain opportunity pipelines, market intelligence, and client engagement activities through CRM and reporting tools.
