Job summary

Orbital Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Senior Power BI SME and Database Administrator to lead our enterprise BI environment from the ground up. You will design dashboards, govern data, and mentor a growing team while collaborating with executives across the enterprise.

The role requires 8+ years in Power BI and SQL Server, with a strong focus on governance, data modeling, and scalable analytics. Remote work available with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS/Analytics or related field.
• 8+ years in Power BI development, administration, or BI roles.
• Experience building Power BI environments from scratch with governance.
• Experience migrating dashboards to Power BI.
• Strong DAX, data modeling, and visualization design skills.
• Advanced SQL with tuning and optimization.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise BI environment from ground up with governance standards.
• Build and optimize dashboards, reports, and semantic models.
• Migrate dashboards (e.g., to include Deltek Vantagepoint).
• Own Power BI tenant: security, deployment pipelines, governance.
• Develop automated workflows via Power Platform and PowerShell.
• Mentor junior BI team members and establish best practices.
