Job summary

Raytheon is seeking a Principal Power & Analog Design Engineer to join the Multi-Product Power & Digital department in McKinney, TX. This onsite role focuses on FPGA, circuit card, and subsystem power electronics for missiles/effectors and electronic warfare systems.

You will lead architecture, detailed design, simulations, and verifications across disciplines, and mentor junior engineers while driving schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in STEM and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
• Design, analysis, test, and/or simulation experience with linear converters and non-isolated topologies: buck, boost, buck-boost.
• Design, analysis, and/or simulation experience with isolated topologies: flyback, half-bridge, full-bridge, forward, push-pull, resonant.
• Experience with EMI Filter design, analysis, test, and/or simulation considerations in power electronics circuits.
• Experience with transformer or inductor design, analysis, test, and/or simulation considerations in power electronics circuits.
• Experience with schematic capture/CAD packages.
• Experience using MATLAB, MathCAD, Mathematica, or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Drive requirements decomposition.
• Lead trade studies and define architecture at circuit card/sub-system level.
• Lead power converter specification development.
• Lead design, analysis, test, and documentation of analog and power conversion circuits.
• Collaborate with ECAD drafters on stack-up, layout, and routing.
• Plan and execute integration and verification in engineering labs.
• Provide product test and troubleshooting support; assist root cause analyses.
• Define schedules for circuit card and sub-system tasks; manage risks.
• Lead internal/external technical reviews and customer interactions.
• Contribute to product/technology roadmaps and continuous improvements.
