Job summary

Lummus Technology seeks a Principal Power Consultant to join the U.S. Power Project Services team in Houston, TX. You will lead technical due diligence and advisory activities for power assets, guiding investors, lenders, and developers through complex asset transactions.

Ideal candidates bring extensive experience in power generation, EPC execution, and asset management, with strong communication and leadership skills. Remote work flexibility may be considered for senior engagements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; advanced degree or MBA is a plus.
• Typically 7+ years of professional experience, including a minimum of five years within the power generation or energy infrastructure sector.
• Prior consulting or transaction advisory experience is advantageous but not required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new build and operating power assets, including technology selection, plant design, EPC and key project contracts, construction schedules, capital cost estimates, operations and maintenance strategies, cost structures, equipment condition, and plant performance.
• Perform reviews of technical reports, engineering documentation, and project contracts, rapidly synthesizing complex information into clear, defensible, and decision-relevant conclusions for independent engineer reports.
• Identify key technical risks, assess their potential impact on project value, and evaluate mitigation strategies.
• Prepare technical due diligence reports, independent engineer reports, and lender advisory deliverables.
