Job summary

Amazon is hiring an experienced PostgreSQL engineer to design and operate our fully managed database service. You will work with customers to understand challenges, drive feature improvements, and ensure reliable, scalable performance of PostgreSQL workloads.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor others, and contribute to open-source discussions while extending knowledge to other database engines beyond PostgreSQL.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of experience with PostgreSQL.
• At least 5 years of operating PostgreSQL systems.
• Experience working with customers on how to best use PostgreSQL.

A Day in the Life

As you design and code solutions to help our team drive efficiencies in software architecture, you’ll create metrics, implement automation, and resolve the root cause of software defects.

You'll also:

• Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Work cross‑functionally to help drive business decisions with your technical input.

Salary & Benefits

Salary ranges vary by location: CA (East Palo Alto) $167,800–$227,000; TX (Dallas) $145,900–$197,400; WA (Redmond) $145,900–$197,400 annually.
