Job summary

This Senior PostgreSQL Database Administrator will own health, performance, and durability of high-throughput Postgres clusters in hybrid environments, spanning on-prem VMs and Amazon RDS.

Qualifications
- Deep PostgreSQL expertise with EXPLAIN ANALYZE outputs.
- Experience with Patroni clusters and real failover.
- Proficient in Ruby and Java; Python literacy.
Responsibilities
- Own performance for high-volume OLTP Postgres workloads.
- Design, deploy, and operate highly available Patroni clusters.
- Manage backups and recovery end-to-end (pgBackRest, Barman).
- Review migrations in Ruby and Java, catch N+1 queries and unsafe DDL.
- Lead on-call incidents and write postmortems.
- Write runbooks and architecture decision records.
