Job summary

TRM Labs is seeking a Senior Software Engineer on the Data Platform team to own the relational database stack at petabyte scale, focusing on performance, cost, and reliability. You will optimize PostgreSQL and implement AI-assisted analysis while shaping scalable data infrastructure.

You will automate routine DB tasks, ensure real-time data pipelines with CDC tools, and collaborate across US/Canada teams, bringing strong ownership and high standards to production systems.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years building and operating production PostgreSQL (distributed Postgres).
• Deep SQL optimization skills including Explain Plans and window functions.
• Hands-on experience with CDC tools (PeerDB, Fivetran, Debezium).
• Fluency with database profiling tools like pganalyze.
• Experience with Python or Go for automation of DB tasks.

Responsibilities

• Own serving layer end-to-end for Postgres-based systems at petabyte scale.
• Drive query tuning, index design, and schema optimization.
• Automate routine DB operations and blue‑green deployments.
• Ensure data integrity and low-latency real-time data flows.
• Collaborate with product teams across US/Canada time zones.
