Job summary

Michigan Medicine is seeking a senior post-award research administrator to provide high-level financial support for project grant budgets, planning, analysis and long-range forecasting. You will reconcile budgets, monitor expenses, assist in forecasting, collaborate with Sponsored Programs, and mentor junior staff while upholding compliance and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of post-award research administration experience; proven high performance.
• Excellent written and oral communication with high attention to detail and multitasking ability.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile and analyze project grant budgets and expenditures; review discrepancies.
• Assist in analyzing and monitoring accounting, budgeting and billing activities.
• Coordinate with Sponsored Programs on budget allocations and review financial statements.
• Prepare short/long-term financial forecasting to aid investigators in spending plans.
• Process journal entries in compliance with 120-day federal guidelines.
• Mentor lower-level research administrators and ensure confidentiality.
