Job summary

Michigan Medicine is seeking a full-time Research Administrator Senior to join the Post-Award Financial Team within the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine. The role focuses on stewardship of sponsored and non-sponsored projects using University accounting systems and offers competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, accounting or finance with 5–7 years grant/contract experience.
• Advanced Excel; experience with M-Reports, M-Pathways; basic with Business Objects.
• Strong understanding of UM procurement policies and Uniform Guidance.
• Proven ability to reconcile expenses on sponsored projects and demonstrate initiative.

Responsibilities

• Perform reconciliation of project grants using university systems.
• Read and interpret grant terms and contract conditions.
• Track reporting and close-out deadlines for sponsored grants.
• Determine salary support allocations for faculty and staff.
• Analyze financial status of projects, forecast expenses and balances.
• Meet with faculty to review accounts and portfolios.
• Prepare post-award changes, allocate budgets, and close-out projects.
• Initiate journal entries and assist with special projects.
