Job summary

Cathay Bank in Los Angeles is seeking a Portfolio Manager to maintain and monitor an existing commercial loan portfolio. You will work closely with the Senior Relationship Manager to manage client relationships, identify opportunities, and cross-sell the Bank’s products and services.

Qualifications

• Education: College graduate with major in related fields, strongly preferred.
• Experience: AVP 3-5+ years, VP 5-7+ years in loan account relationship management or underwriting.
• Must have strong loan portfolio management experience.
• Must possess strong loan negotiation experience.
• Must possess underwriting experience in commercial lending.
• Must have knowledge of credit policy, risk management, and underwriting requirements.
• Ability to cross-sell commercial and specialty banking products.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with SRM(s) and Team Managers on the assigned loan portfolio, monitoring credit quality.
• Review to ensure each credit is risk rated according to policy.
• Maintain and grow client relationships and cross-sell Bank products.
• Originate new credits from existing clients; monitor renewals, amendments, and annual reviews.
• Collaborate with underwriter and loan staff to prepare the CCR.
• Assess accounts to identify issues and determine actions to maximize credit quality.
• Ensure compliance with Bank, regulatory and credit requirements and timelines.
