Job summary

GitLab Foundation is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Portfolio & Fund Operations to help run the Funds function and advance economic mobility. You will coordinate teams, manage priorities, and ensure funder commitments are delivered to a high standard.

Reporting to the Chief Programs & Portfolio Officer, you will lead projects, staff the team, and align operations with CREDIT values across a fully remote US-based workforce.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in operations, program or portfolio management or mission-driven environments.
• At least 3 years of direct people management experience.
• Experience setting priorities and allocating resources across multiple stakeholders.
• Proven ability to own and drive complex projects with limited direction.
• Experience partnering with senior leaders and external stakeholders.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong operational skills—systems, processes, workflows, and team practices.
• Philanthropy, grantmaking, fund operations, or portfolio management experience preferred.
• Mission- and impact-driven approach with transparency and integrity.
• Curiosity, adaptability, resilience, bias toward action in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Coach and develop Fund Coordinators and direct reports.
• Manage team priorities, workload, resources, adjust responsibilities.
• Establish ownership and accountability from planning to completion.
• Monitor performance, address competing priorities and bottlenecks.
• Lead Funds team rituals—meetings, stand-ups, retrospectives, planning.
• Foster a collaborative, high-performing culture aligned with CREDIT values.
