Job summary

Amtrak is seeking a Sr Portfolio Director-Gateway to lead a portfolio of mega bridge and heavy civil projects along the NEC, NJ Penn to NY Penn. You will direct multiple project teams, manage budget and schedule, and coordinate with regulators and stakeholders.

The role requires senior-level program management experience, PMP/PE, and strong financial and governance capabilities to drive on-time delivery and strategic funding across projects. Onsite positions with travel are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with extensive relevant experience.
• Minimum 13 years of project leadership in mega programs; 15+ preferred.
• Certification in project management or professional engineering is highly valued.
• Experience with public/private partnerships and major transportation projects.

Responsibilities

• Direct multiple project teams to deliver bridge/heavy civil assets on schedule and budget.
• Establish governance, controls, and escalation processes across programs.
• Identify dependencies and coordinate with executives and external parties.
• Mentor staff and ensure compliance with project management practices.
• Lead annual planning, business cases, and funding development.
