Job summary

Offshore Aviation Group seeks an experienced Port Engineer to lead engineering support for an expanding vessel fleet, ensuring safety, reliability, and readiness for government and commercial commitments.

The role encompasses hands-on maintenance, DP system oversight, and end-to-end project management including drydockings and vessel acquisitions. Strong leadership and budgeting skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of progressive marine engineering experience including vessel machinery maintenance and repair.
• Experience as Port Engineer/Technical Superintendent/Chief Engineer or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of marine diesel engines, generators, electrical systems, hydraulics, and auxiliary machinery.
• Familiarity with DP systems and their support systems.
• Experience planning shipyard work, repairs, and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Oversee condition, reliability, and maintenance of machinery and systems aboard vessels.
• Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs covering propulsion, generators, electricals, hydraulics, and HVAC.
• Coordinate with Chief Engineers to review records, performance, and corrective actions.
• Provide technical support to vessel crews and coordinate emergency repairs.
• Plan drydockings, shipyard periods, major repairs, and vessel modifications.
• Lead engineering personnel development, onboarding, and performance evaluations.
• Coordinate inspections with U.S. Coast Guard, ABS, and other authorities.
