Job summary

Keystone Shipping Co. seeks a Port Engineer to supervise MARAD vessels in port and during dry-dock, directing shipyard and repair vendors. The role oversees installation and repair of marine powerplants, propulsion systems, and related equipment to ensure readiness for activation and sea trials.

You will manage budgets, coordinate with the Chief Engineer, and ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering or equivalent with vessel repair experience.
• 3–5 years in Port Engineer or senior ship repair roles.
• DOD SECRET clearance eligibility or active clearance preferred.
• TWIC card required for access to facilities.
• Proficiency with ABS NS-E software and ABS MyFreedom; MS Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Supervise MARAD vessels in port and dry-dock, directing shipyard and repair vendors.
• Oversee installation and repair of marine powerplants, propulsion, heating and venting systems, and related equipment.
• Prepare operating budgets and long-term plans for vessels for review by Fleet Engineer and Government Program Manager.
• Coordinate repairs with vessel Chief Engineer and manage spare parts requisitions.
