Job summary

Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce in Denver, CO, is seeking a senior manager, government affairs to shape legislative strategy and advocate for Colorado's business community. You will partner with the VP External Affairs to engage lawmakers, build coalitions, and guide policy initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in government affairs, public policy, advocacy, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of the state and local legislative process and public policy development.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to build trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders and influence through collaboration.
• Experience facilitating committees, member engagement, coalitions, cross-functional initiatives, and grassroots or advocacy campaigns.
• Experience with strategic communications and translating complex policy issues into persuasive communications.
• Exceptional organization, judgement and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a passion for serving Colorado's business community.

Responsibilities

• Shape policy priorities at the state and local level and advocate for solutions that strengthen Colorado's business community.
• Build trusted relationships with business leaders, elected officials, community organizations and strategic partners.
• Lead policy committees, member forums and stakeholder discussions to educate, engage and activate Chamber members.
• Drive complex projects that strengthen the Chamber's advocacy efforts, member experience and long-term organizational impact.
• Mentor teammates and partner with leadership to strengthen departmental operations.
