Job summary

State of Colorado, Colorado Department of Corrections, seeks a senior Legislative Liaison to coordinate internal and external legislative activities. You will track bills, manage committee hearings, prepare responses for legislators, and work with the Governor’s Office on position requests.

The role requires eight years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with strong analytical and communication skills to navigate a politically sensitive environment.

Qualifications

• Eight (8) years of professional experience in legislative tracking, government relations, policy analysis, or legislative liaison work.
• Or a combination of related education and/or experience equal to eight (8) years.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to work under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Serves as CDOC’s internal legislative and governmental relations coordinator.
• Tracks legislation, attends hearings, and reviews fiscal notes for clarity.
• Collaborates with Governor’s team to submit position requests and with staff on reports.
