Job summary

IDEX Corporation Gast is seeking an Advanced Processing Engineer to lead advanced machining, automation, and process development across our Performance Pneumatics platform. This hands-on working manager role builds capability, improves manufacturing performance, and turns innovative ideas into practical, measurable results across multiple sites.

You will collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance and Supply Chain teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
8+ years of experience in manufacturing, process engineering, operations, or related field.
Hands-on experience with CNC machining, programming, tooling, fixturing, and process improvement.
Experience with industrial automation and controls, including PLC/HMI, robotics, vision, or motion systems.
Strong Lean, continuous improvement, or productivity leadership with measurable results.
Project leadership in equipment installation, commissioning, and validation.
Proficiency with data analysis and SPC/DOE methods.

Responsibilities

Develop and optimize high-tolerance CNC machining, tooling, fixturing, and process capability to improve quality, cycle time, yield, and cost.
Lead automation and controls initiatives, including robotics, PLC/HMI, vision systems, motion control, and Industry 4.0 solutions.
Identify and deploy advanced manufacturing technologies to improve flexibility, productivity, safety, and competitiveness.
Apply Lean, Six Sigma, root-cause analysis, SPC, and DOE methods to reduce waste and improve process performance.
Establish standard processes, best practices, and technical playbooks across sites.
Lead capital equipment and process upgrade projects from business case to installation and validation.
Maintain and improve manufacturing documentation including SOPs, routings, CNC programs, control plans, and change controls.
Provide shop-floor technical support, troubleshoot issues, and lead trials to improve OEE, scrap, and rework.
Lead cross-functional project teams and mentor engineers, technicians, and site-level resources.
Ensure new processes and equipment meet safety, ergonomic, regulatory, and quality requirements.
