Job summary

IDEX is seeking a Senior Commodity Manager for the Performance Pneumatics platform to develop global strategies, lead supplier negotiations, and ensure cost, quality, delivery and supply continuity.

The role collaborates with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Finance and Leadership to improve supplier performance, drive value engineering and risk mitigation; travel 20-30% internationally. This is a full-time role within the Gast business unit at IDEX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related field.
• 7-10 years of experience in sourcing, commodity management, or supply chain leadership.
• Proven experience leading complex supplier negotiations and applying cost modeling tools.
• Experience in iron and aluminum castings, metal fabrication, machining, or industrial pneumatics components is preferred.
• Experience managing a global supplier base with risk mitigation across regions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute global commodity strategies that meet targets for cost, quality, delivery, inventory, and supply continuity.
• Identify, qualify, and develop suppliers to improve cost competitiveness, quality, and resilience.
• Lead supplier negotiations and establish commercial agreements for best total cost of ownership.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, quality, and finance to resolve supplier issues and drive improvements.
• Lead supplier development and continuous improvement initiatives with internal stakeholders.
