Job summary

IDEX is seeking a Senior Commodity Manager for Performance Pneumatics to lead global commodity strategies, supplier selection, and performance management. You will collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Finance, and Leadership to drive material productivity and supply chain resilience across a diverse portfolio of Pneumatics platforms.

The role requires 7–10 years in sourcing or supply chain leadership, experience with complex supplier negotiations, and strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related field.
• 7–10 years of experience in sourcing, commodity management, or supply chain leadership within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience leading complex supplier negotiations, developing commercial agreements, and applying should-cost or cost modeling tools.
• Experience in commodities such as iron and aluminum castings, metal fabrication, machining, or other industrial components used in pneumatic products is preferred.
• Experience managing a global supply base, including supplier performance, capacity, and risk mitigation across regions.
• Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or supplier development experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive results.
• Strong analytical, financial, Excel, ERP systems, and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute global commodity strategies aligned with annual operating plan targets.
• Identify, qualify, and develop suppliers to improve cost, quality, delivery, and supply continuity.
• Lead supplier negotiations and establish commercial agreements for best total cost of ownership.
• Lead supplier development and continuous improvement initiatives with internal stakeholders to improve performance.
• Manage supplier performance through scorecards, executive reviews, and corrective actions.
