Job summary

UF Lastinger Center for Learning on the University of Florida campus in Gainesville seeks a Project Manager III to lead the centralized PMO, overseeing project intake, governance, and delivery aligned with the organization's mission.

The role drives maturity, mentorship, and standardized practices across projects, employing a hybrid Agile-Waterfall framework to balance predictability with adaptability and ensuring timely, quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or a bachelor’s degree and four years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management with a track record of managing large-scale or complex implementations and teams.
• PM certification (PMP/PRINCE2) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the unified Project Management Office and set vision, standards, and direction.
• Onboard and train project management staff with standard operating procedures.
• Oversee intake, prioritization, and governance to ensure strategic alignment.
• Ensure high-quality delivery across projects using a hybrid Agile-Waterfall approach.
• Direct centralized resource planning and manage cross-functional dependencies.
• Provide data-driven portfolio reporting including Power BI dashboards.
• Build partnerships across leadership to align priorities and delivery.
• Drive PMO maturity and continuous improvement through retrospectives.
• Lead enterprise risk, issues, and change management practices.
• Mentor project managers and ensure effective project execution.
