Job summary

DTE Energy is seeking an advanced level engineer in Detroit to plan and conduct complex engineering activities, applying innovative techniques and broad disciplinary knowledge. The incumbent will make independent decisions and represent the business unit in resolving engineering questions, while building relationships with key decision makers.

The role leads large projects, develops testing procedures, and mentors junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Master's degree and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering and scientific principles and practices in broad areas of assignments.
• Leads the development and execution of large or complex engineering projects.
• Establishes and reviews test procedures; evaluates new technology and promotes adoption.
• Conducts multifaceted technical investigations and resolves complex issues.
• Performs studies and analyses to resolve engineering-related issues and updates standards.
• Creates documentation and communication for project progress or results.
• Researches and implements new engineering practices to improve operations.
• Mentors less experienced engineers and supports cross-functional projects.
