Job summary

DTE Energy is seeking an electrical engineer to support large EPC projects in Detroit, MI. The role focuses on power distribution systems, equipment selection, interfaces, and code compliance, providing SME guidance on technical aspects of projects.

Responsibilities include reviewing plans, specifications, and vendor packages, and coordinating with operations and safety teams. A PE license and 5+ years in engineering/construction are preferred for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited four‑year college or university.
• 5+ years of experience in engineering/construction, supporting medium and low voltage power distribution systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements EPC projects from the developer/owner perspective.
• Performs technical due diligence in development efforts.
• Prepares and reviews EPC specifications.
• Evaluates EPC proposals, including liquidated damage calculations.
• Reviews EPC documentation to protect owner’s position.
• Reviews electrical scope, switchgear, MCCs, transformers, UPS, cables, grounding, and protection.
